A 2004 Renault Megane arrived at our workshop for a broader service and preparation for further use. This was not just a regular oil change. The car needed starting and fuel system diagnostics, injector inspection, several important part replacements, headlight adjustment, suspension and brake inspection, winter tires, and preparation for technical inspection.
On an older vehicle, it is important not to start blindly. If there is an issue with the fuel system, starting, or uneven engine operation, the exact source of the problem has to be identified first. Only then does it make sense to replace parts.
The first part of the job focused on the fuel system. Several areas had to be checked because the issue could have been caused by the injectors, high-pressure fuel pump, fuel rail, in-tank pump, or contamination in the system.
We checked:
The work also included flushing the fuel tank and fuel system. On an older car, contamination can remain inside the system and affect fuel pressure, engine operation, and starting reliability.
After diagnostics, we continued with service work. We replaced the glow plugs, oil, oil filter, fuel-related parts according to the findings, and the camshaft sensor.
We carried out:
The goal was to give the engine a stable base: correct preheating, a clean fuel system, fresh oil, and confidence that the control unit receives correct data from the sensors.
The final part of the job focused on road safety and preparation for technical inspection. We checked the suspension, brakes, adjusted the front headlight, and installed winter tires.
The inspection included:
The result is a car that did not receive only a partial repair, but a complete check of important systems. On an older vehicle, this approach matters most: not just solving one symptom, but preparing the full base for further use.

Because the issue may not be limited to one component. Injectors, pump, filter, fuel rail, and tank are connected, and a fault in one area can affect overall engine operation.
Glow plugs should be checked if cold starts become difficult, if diagnostic faults appear, or if the engine runs unevenly after startup, especially on diesel engines.
These parts directly affect safety and roadworthiness. Incorrectly adjusted headlights, worn brakes, or suspension play can cause problems during inspection.
The 2004 Renault Megane received complete diagnostics and service. We worked on glow plugs, injectors, high-pressure pump, fuel rail, fuel system flushing, fuel pump and filter replacement, engine oil, oil filter, camshaft sensor, headlights, suspension, brakes, winter tires, and technical inspection. The result is an older vehicle prepared for further use with all key systems clearly checked.
